MACHINE STRUCTURE

The bed and the moving column are built in a single cast iron casting with oversized ribs capable of withstanding the heaviest stress, designed and optimized by means of finite element analysis (FEM), to achieve maximum stability and guarantee a high level of finish on any work material. 

On the bed take place the linear guides for the longitudinal movement of the column base (X axis) on which the guides for the transversal movement are mounted (Y axis). In front of the column takes place the dual pallet table. The linear guides for the vertical spindle movement are obtained on the column (Z axis).

The geometry of the bed is made to favour both the evacuation of the chips and the accessibility to the machine by the operator. 

DUAL PALLET

Compared to other automatic pallet changer systems (APC), the front-type rotating dual pallet is the best handling solution for workpieces and clamping equipment, and facilitates workpiece loading/unloading operations. It consists of a single 1140x700 mm pallet, divided in two parts. This system allows to significantly reduce the pallet change time (3 or 4,5 seconds, depending on the maximum load allowed on the table) and prevents the entry of chips underneath the table. With this system the passive time of loading/unloading workpieces are eliminated as these operations are performed as long as the machine is working. This is possible because the two half are separated by a guard, avoiding the leakage of coolant and chips, allowing the operator to load/unload the workpiece safely.

ROLLER-TYPE LINEAR GUIDES

The three main movements of the machine (X, Y, Z) are all on roller-type linear guides in steel of best brands. An efficient timed automatic lubrication system guarantees constant lubrication on all contact surfaces. The dimensions of the guides are such as to make the specific pressure low even under heavy loads and work stresses.

SPINDLE

It has a monolithic cast iron “thermally symmetrical” structure, with an efficient cooling system with external refrigeration unit that keeps the temperature constant, to avoid the effects of any thermal excursions.

The transmission takes place through direct drive spindle, standard rotation speed is 12.000 rpm and Fanuc motor αiI12 is mounted (11-15-18 kW).

The standard spindle taper is a BT-40 and dual contact big plus BBT-40 is available.

TOOL CHANGE

The automatic tool change system consist in a "chain" type magazine, positioned on the right side, and by a double socket exchanger arm. The standard capacity of the warehouse is 24 position, extendable to 30. The exchanger arm is built according to concepts of considerable strength and reliability over time. Tool selection is a bidirectional “Random” type, with tool search according to the shortest route, allows one fast pre-selection during processing. Tool change is takes only 1.4 sec. (Tool to Tool).

TOOL REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

Composed of a capacious coolant tank, pump and pipes for cooling the spindle and cleaning the work area of the machine. Upon request, the system is equipped with additional high-pressure pumps for the passage of coolant through spindle, from 20 to 70 bar, and systems for the separation of used lubrification oil in the tank, to avoid the contamination of the coolant.

ELECTRONIC-ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The system, integrated with the CNC of the machine, is complete with a watertight cabinet. All commands, as well as the control unit, are placed in the front part, while the electrical cabinet is placed in the rear of the machine. 

An air conditioner is also available to favour lifelong protection of the electronic components of the cabinet.

AUTOMATIC LUBRIFICATION SYSTEM

It includes the lubrication control unit, equipped with a timer and a series of dispensers an pressure switch for the automatic lubrication of linear guides, ball screws and bearings. An acoustic signal warns if the level has reached the minimum allowed, while continuing to lubricate. The base structure was made for the recovery of most of the used oil in a special tank.

PNEUMATIC SYSTEM

Complete with filter group, pressure regulator, lubricator, solenoid valves. It feeds the cleaning device of the tool shank, preventing against the entry of foreign bodies into the spindle itself, the air gun and all applications that may require pressurized air, such as fixtures.
